Role Overview
The Accounts Payable Officer plays a vital role in ensuring the precise and prompt processing of all accounts payable invoices. This includes performing data entry, invoice coding, and maintaining vendor relationships to facilitate smooth financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately process supplier invoices within the Business Central system in a timely manner.
- Reconcile supplier account statements and resolve any discrepancies found.
- Establish and update vendor records maintaining current information.
- Coordinate follow-ups on invoice approvals to guarantee timely payments.
- Communicate with stakeholders to support purchase order receipting and invoice matching.
- Manage scheduled payment runs weekly, monthly, and on an ad hoc basis.
- Handle queries related to accounts payable from suppliers and internal teams efficiently.
- Process reimbursement for employee expenses promptly.
- Prepare accounts payable accruals and documentation necessary for month-end closing.
- Assist in generating accounts payable journal entries and monthly financial reports.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for improving processes within the accounts payable function.

- Demonstrates honesty, integrity, and respects the confidentiality essential to the role.
- Exhibits proven expertise in accounts payable, ideally with over five years of relevant experience.
- Possesses excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Displays keen attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Thrives under pressure and meets tight deadlines consistently.
- Experienced in utilizing Business Central software and proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Organized, proactive, and collaborative, contributing effectively as part of a team.
Additional Information
This is a permanent, full-time role based at the Corporate Offices in Wellington, requiring 80 working hours per fortnight. Applications are welcomed from candidates authorized to work in New Zealand.
