Role Overview

As a Junior Fire & Life Safety Designer located at our Design 360 Studio in the Al Hudaiba Awards office, Dubai, you will assist senior staff in developing compliant and practical FLS systems for diverse projects like residential, hospitality, and mixed-use developments. Your contributions will enhance design cohesion and regulatory adherence across multi-disciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Senior FLS Designer in crafting fire and life safety design solutions across projects.
• Create and revise FLS drawings, layouts, technical details, and documentation.
• Contribute to the development of fire protection, alarm, and life safety systems.
• Assist in preparing design calculations, schedules, and technical reports.
• Coordinate fire safety requirements with architecture, structural, MEP, and interior teams.
• Review drawings to ensure compliance with project needs and regulatory codes.
• Address design feedback and coordinate necessary revisions with internal teams and external consultants.
• Support design reviews, coordination meetings, and technical discussions.
• Maintain organized and accurate project files and drawings.
• Perform additional design tasks as delegated by the Senior FLS Designer.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
• Minimum two years’ experience in fire and life safety or fire protection design, ideally within consultancy or engineering settings.
• Fundamental knowledge of fire protection and life safety systems, including fire alarms, firefighting, smoke control, and means of egress.
• Preferably familiar with UAE Fire and Life Safety Code, NFPA standards, and local authority regulations.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, with working knowledge of Revit/BIM and other design applications.
• Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings effectively.
• Strong coordination and communication abilities to operate well within multidisciplinary teams.
• High attention to detail, eagerness to learn, and adapt in a dynamic design environment.
• Experience working on high-rise, residential, hospitality, or mixed-use projects in the UAE is advantageous.
