Job Responsibilities
- Perform various small to medium maintenance and repair tasks on residential and commercial properties, with projects lasting from several hours up to two days.
- Engage proactively with customers to explain required repairs, set realistic expectations regarding scope and pricing, and provide recommendations.
- Deliver outstanding service experiences to cultivate long-term customer relationships, following the company's proven service process known as the "Mr. Handyman Way."
Performance Metrics
- Maintain high customer satisfaction by encouraging job-completion surveys and achieving strong response and approval rates.
- Meet revenue targets by leveraging opportunities to provide additional services beyond initial repairs.
- Ensure accurate invoicing, sourcing of materials, and collection of payments to maximize effective billing.
- Complete all work correctly the first time to uphold a one-year workmanship guarantee, minimizing callbacks.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Live within the local service area.
- Possess at least five years of paid handyman experience with strong skills in at least three of the following areas: carpentry, bathroom or kitchen renovations, interior/exterior painting, drywall repairs, general plumbing and electrical tasks (where legally permitted), floor installation and refinishing, and knowledge of building codes.
- Have personal tools necessary to complete assigned jobs independently.
- Be insurable to operate the company vehicle and successfully pass background and driving record checks.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds without assistance and safely working at heights or overhead for extended periods.
- Maintain professional appearance and upkeep of the assigned company vehicle and equipment.
- Self-manage daily activities and effectively communicate with customers regarding service needs, reviews, and payments.
- Utilize technology such as an iPad and specialized internal software (ServiceTitan) for job documentation and scheduling support.
- Adhere to safety protocols including wearing proper personal protective equipment and boot covers to protect customer homes.
