Job description
Position Overview
Quantum Tuning Ltd is seeking a detail-oriented and analytically skilled individual to join their Maidenhead office as a full-time ECU File Processing Technician. This role involves working with ECU files provided by the dealer network, analyzing and adjusting software files using specialist tools, and ensuring accuracy before release. The position offers a salary up to 5,000 annually based on experience and aptitude, with full training provided. Working hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:30am to 4:30pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and review software files uploaded by dealers from vehicle ECUs.
- Identify specific vehicle, ECU model, and software involved with each file.
- Analyze ECU software using dedicated diagnostic and modification tools.
- Apply requested adjustments following dealer instructions.
- Conduct thorough checks to verify the accuracy of modified files prior to distribution.
- Spot unusual or potentially problematic files and flag them accordingly.
- Collaborate with the technical team to solve complex or challenging cases.
- Communicate with dealers to obtain further details or clarifications as needed.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all processed files and activities.
Candidate Profile
- Strong general proficiency with computers and confidence in adopting new software tools.
- A logical mindset with an analytical approach to diagnosing and solving technical problems.
- Exceptional attention to detail with an ability to detect patterns and inconsistencies.
- Methodical and disciplined in following precise technical procedures.
- Capable of working independently and making informed decisions after training.
- Aptitude for concentrating on detailed computer work for prolonged periods.
- Genuine curiosity about technology and how mechanical and electronic systems function.
A background in ECU tuning or automotive software is not essential as full professional training will be provided. Interest in cars is helpful but not required. The company values passion demonstrated through technical hobbies such as computer building, coding, electronics experimentation, or troubleshooting technology.
Work Environment & Training
The role is office-based at Quantum Tuning's Maidenhead location. New team members will initially receive hands-on training with experienced colleagues to develop skills in ECU software, system operations, and specialty tools for file analysis and modification. Responsibility will grow progressively with experience.
