Job Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of small to medium maintenance and repair tasks for residential and commercial clients, with projects typically lasting from two hours up to two days.
• Consult with customers by explaining necessary work, managing expectations around project scope and costs, and ensuring clear communication.
• Deliver high-quality service consistently to build repeat, lifelong customers by adhering to a standardized process designed to impress.

Performance Metrics

• Maintain high customer satisfaction scores by encouraging and facilitating customer feedback after each job.
• Achieve revenue targets by identifying and capitalizing on additional customer service opportunities.
• Invoice accurately, procure necessary materials, and handle payment collection efficiently.
• Ensure all work is completed correctly the first time to minimize recalls, supported by a one-year workmanship guarantee.

Requirements

• Reside locally within the Oak Ridge area.
• Possess a minimum of five years of paid experience as a handyman.
• Own necessary tools to perform handyman tasks independently.
• Be insurable to drive company vehicles, pass background and driving record checks.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds independently and safely working at heights or overhead for extended periods.
• Maintain a professional appearance and properly upkeep company-provided vehicles.
• Demonstrate proficiency in at least three areas among carpentry, bathroom or kitchen renovations, interior and exterior painting, drywall repairs, general plumbing and electrical work (where legally permissible), floor installation/refurbishment, and familiarity with building codes.

Additional Information

• The role requires self-management and the ability to work independently, often alone on job sites.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills are necessary for interacting with clients, collecting payment, and asking for reviews.
• Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and jobsite protocols such as wearing booties to protect customer homes are required.
