Opportunity Overview

We are seeking an experienced Handover Coordinator to join our Doha-based team for a newly awarded project. This pivotal role ensures the smooth and timely handover and close-out of projects, working closely with clients, end users, contractors, and project stakeholders. The coordinator will ensure all handover processes align with contractual commitments and project standards.

Primary Duties

• Collaborate with clients, end users, contractors, and stakeholders to define tailored handover requirements, schedules, and procedures.
• Assess and supervise the contractor's commissioning, testing, handover, and close-out plans and timelines.
• Evaluate contractor submissions such as as-built drawings, operation & maintenance manuals, testing records, certificates, warranties, and other completion documents.
• Track progress versus handover milestones and contract obligations by coordinating efforts between the project team and contractor.
• Host regular meetings to review progress and address challenges impacting handover and close-out operations.
• Develop and monitor snagging, inspection, de-snagging, and final acceptance procedures.
• Facilitate testing, commissioning, inspections, and other essential activities in partnership with contractors, project teams, and end users.
• Ensure timely preparation, review, and completion of as-built drawings and handover documentation.
• Conduct handover inductions and communicate project handover requirements to relevant parties.
• Coordinate final inspections with clients and stakeholders to support issuance of No Objection Certificates, Taking Over Certificates, and required completion paperwork.
• Identify, track, and resolve pending handover and close-out items.
• Prepare detailed progress reports and maintain comprehensive records of handover activities.
• Oversee the submission of final project close-out reports in compliance with client and company standards.
• Ensure all handover work complies with contracts, project guidelines, and client standards.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years overall professional experience, including at least 7 years focused on project handover and close-out phases.
• Demonstrated expertise in local roads, highways, or expressway projects, preferably with experience in Qatar.
• Valid Qatar Engineering License or UPDA registration.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts and handover coordination among clients, contractors, and end users.
• Advanced skills in testing, commissioning, snagging, de-snagging, documentation, and project close-out processes.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and reporting abilities.
• Proficiency in both Arabic and English is preferred.
