Grocery Department Manager

Position Overview

The Grocery Department Manager is responsible for leading a team to efficiently coordinate associate activities to complete assigned handheld terminal duties, maintaining a well-stocked and organized sales area, and providing outstanding customer service in a safe, clean, and hazard-free environment. The role involves strategic planning and execution of tasks according to workload and customer flow patterns.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly, assisting with product promotion, locating merchandise, aiding purchasing decisions, resolving queries, and escalating issues when necessary.
• Assign, support, and oversee completion of Customer Availability Process tasks such as section work, capping bins, and stocking picks.
• Manage delegation and follow-up on price updates and promotional feature setups.
• Coordinate and track the completion of modular arrangements within the assigned department area.
• Provide coverage and assist with recovery and zoning activities on the sales floor as required.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following company policies, completing safety checklists, and ensuring displays and fixtures are secure and debris-free.
• Ensure associates take breaks per scheduled coverage requirements.
• Coach, train, and provide constructive feedback to department associates.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $20.85.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
