Full-Time Store Associate

Job Overview

As a Store Associate at ALDI USA in Liverpool, NY, you will play a key role in enhancing the customer shopping experience through merchandising, stocking products, operating the cash register, and maintaining a clean store environment. This full-time role requires collaboration with the ALDI team to ensure exceptional service and store presentation.

Work Hours and Compensation

The position requires more than 30 hours per week, starting at an hourly wage of $20.00. Wage increases are scheduled annually, rising to $20.50 in year two, $21.00 in years three and four, and $22.00 in year five.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service and escalate issues to store management when necessary.
• Notify management about product losses due to expiration or damage.
• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately, reporting any scanning issues to management.
• Follow cash handling policies and procedures securely.
• Open additional checkout lanes as needed to maintain efficient customer flow.
• Stock shelves and arrange displays according to merchandising guidelines to optimize sales.
• Fulfill curbside pickup orders by gathering and verifying items for timely customer delivery.
• Maintain store zones and merchandising standards consistently.
• Support management in meeting operational and loss reduction goals.
• Adhere strictly to company policies and safety guidelines.
• Help create a safe workplace by identifying hazards, promoting ergonomics, and ensuring equipment is functional.
• Follow inventory control procedures and guidelines for product handling.
• Perform cleaning tasks to maintain store cleanliness and standards.

Physical Requirements

• The role involves physical activities such as pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, reaching, twisting, bending, and moving throughout the store.
• Lifting, carrying, and placing products up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights, including overhead, is required.
• Use of equipment like cash registers, hand jacks (manual and electric), floor scrubbers, and cardboard balers is necessary.
• Work involves stocking products in diverse temperature zones including freezers and coolers.
• Use of glass and multi-purpose cleaning products is part of the cleaning duties.

Qualifications and Skills

• Deliver courteous and prompt service to customers.
• Ability to operate store equipment including registers, floor scrubbers, balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
• Understand and apply ALDI’s policies and procedures effectively.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic arithmetic proficiency including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and pay close attention to detail.
• Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrate organized work habits and priority management to meet productivity targets on schedule.
• Maintain punctual and reliable attendance.
• Meet the availability requirements of the role.

Education and Experience

• Candidates must be at least 18 years old.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Retail experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
