Job Overview

Join ALDI USA as a Full-Time Store Associate in North Madison, IN, where you will play a key role in maintaining store presentation and delivering outstanding customer service. Work Hours & Compensation

• This full-time position typically requires working over 30 hours weekly.
• Starting pay is $19.00 per hour, with incremental increases each year reaching up to $21.00 by the fifth year.

Responsibilities

• Deliver customer service excellence and escalate issues to management as needed.
• Report losses due to outdated or damaged stock to the store management.
• Use the point-of-sale system accurately to scan items and process transactions, reporting any scanning errors promptly.
• Follow cash handling policies diligently.
• Manage checkout lines efficiently, opening additional lanes to reduce customer wait times.
• Stock shelves according to merchandising plans to optimize product presentation and sales.
• Prepare curbside pickup orders by accurately selecting and delivering items to customers' vehicles.
• Maintain store zones and merchandising standards consistently.
• Support management efforts to improve operational efficiency and reduce losses.
• Adhere to all company policies and maintain a safe work environment by identifying and correcting hazards.
• Follow inventory and product handling procedures carefully.
• Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards.

Physical Requirements

• Must be capable of pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, reaching, grasping, twisting, bending, and moving between areas.
• Lift and place items weighing up to 45 pounds on shelving of varying heights, including overhead.
• Operate equipment such as cash registers, hand jacks, floor scrubbers, and cardboard balers.
• Work in different temperature zones, including cooler and freezer environments.
• Utilize glass and multipurpose cleaning products safely.

Qualifications

• Provide prompt, courteous customer service consistently.
• Able to use and operate store equipment including registers, scrubbers, balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
• Understand and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures.
• Communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Perform basic calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Follow instructions closely and demonstrate attention to detail.
• Work independently and collaboratively.
• Organize and prioritize tasks to complete work efficiently within given timeframes.
• Maintain reliable attendance and meet scheduling requirements.

Education & Experience

• Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous retail experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
