Full-Time Store Associate

Overview

Join ALDI USA as a Full-Time Store Associate in Kenosha, WI. This role encompasses a variety of tasks including stocking, merchandising, cashiering, and maintaining store cleanliness to enhance the customer experience. You'll work directly with the ALDI team to uphold high service standards and contribute to store operations.

Responsibilities

• Exemplify customer service best practices and escalate issues to management as needed.
• Report losses from outdated or damaged merchandise to store management promptly.
• Use the point-of-sale system proficiently to process transactions and identify scanning errors for management attention.
• Adhere strictly to cash handling policies and procedures.
• Manage checkout lines effectively by opening additional lanes to ensure a smooth customer flow.
• Neatly stock shelves and arrange displays following merchandising planograms to optimize sales.
• Accurately fulfill curbside pickup orders including item retrieval, order verification, and timely delivery to customers’ vehicles.
• Maintain store zone and merchandising standards continuously.
• Collaborate with management to meet operational efficiency and loss prevention targets.
• Follow all company policies and support a safe working environment by identifying hazards and maintaining equipment.
• Observe correct inventory and product handling procedures.
• Perform routine cleaning duties to company standards to ensure a clean store environment.

Physical Demands

• Perform physical activities such as pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, reaching, grasping, twisting, bending, and moving within the store.
• Lift, carry, and place products weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at different heights including overhead areas.
• Operate store equipment including cash registers, electric and manual hand jacks, floor scrubbers, and cardboard balers.
• Work in varying temperatures including freezer and cooler environments as required.
• Use glass and multipurpose cleaning agents safely.

Qualifications

• Deliver prompt and courteous customer service consistently.
• Operate store equipment such as registers, floor scrubbers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
• Interpret and apply ALDI’s operational policies and procedures effectively.
• Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
• Perform basic arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Follow instructions carefully and maintain attention to detail.
• Work independently and collaboratively with team members.
• Organize, prioritize, and complete tasks efficiently within set timeframes.
• Demonstrate reliable and punctual attendance.
• Meet availability requirements as scheduled.

Education and Experience

• Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous retail experience is advantageous but not mandatory.

Compensation and Hours

• Starting wage of $18.50 per hour with scheduled wage increases: $19.00 (Year 2), $19.50 (Years 3 and 4), $20.50 (Year 5).
• Work approximately 30 or more hours weekly on average.
