Full-Time Store Associate

About the Role

Join ALDI as a Full-Time Store Associate in Fairport, NY, where your primary duties include stocking shelves, merchandising products, operating the cash register, and maintaining a clean store environment. You will collaborate with the ALDI team to enhance the customer shopping experience through friendly and efficient service.

Work Schedule and Compensation

This position requires an average of 30 or more hours weekly. The starting pay is $20.00 per hour, with incremental wage increases as follows: $20.50 per hour in year two, $21.00 in years three and four, and reaching $22.00 per hour in year five.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service and escalate any issues to store management as needed.
• Report to management about any losses due to products being outdated or damaged.
• Utilize the point-of-sale system accurately for processing purchases and notify management of any scanning issues.
• Follow cash handling policies and procedures diligently.
• Manage checkout lanes efficiently by opening additional lines as needed.
• Organize shelves and displays neatly adhering to merchandising planograms to boost sales.
• Complete curbside pickup orders by retrieving and verifying items and facilitating timely deliveries to customers' vehicles.
• Maintain store zone and merchandising standards consistently.
• Support operational efficiency and loss prevention targets set by store management.
• Comply with all company policies and maintain a safe working environment by identifying hazards and maintaining equipment.
• Adhere to inventory and product handling protocols.
• Perform general cleaning duties according to company standards.

Physical Requirements

• Capable of pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, reaching, grasping, twisting, bending, and moving within the store.
• Able to lift and carry products weighing up to 45 pounds to various shelf heights.
• Operate equipment such as cash registers, hand pallet jacks (electric and manual), floor scrubbers, and cardboard balers.
• Work in different temperature-controlled areas including freezers and coolers.
• Use various cleaning products safely and effectively.

Qualifications and Abilities

• Deliver prompt and courteous customer service.
• Proficient in operating store equipment including registers, floor scrubbers, balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
• Understand and implement ALDI operating policies and procedures.
• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Perform fundamental arithmetic operations.
• Follow instructions carefully and maintain attention to detail.
• Work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Organize, prioritize, and complete tasks efficiently within designated timeframes.
• Maintain dependable and punctual attendance.
• Meet availability requirements as needed.

Education and Experience

• Minimum age of 18 years.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience in retail preferred but not mandatory.
