Full-Time Store Associate

Overview

Join ALDI USA as a Store Associate responsible for maintaining product displays, operating the cash register, and ensuring the store environment is clean and welcoming. Collaborate closely with your team to deliver outstanding customer service that enhances the shopping experience.

Position Details

This is a full-time position requiring an average of 30 or more hours per week. The starting hourly wage is $18.50 with incremental increases each year up to year five, reaching $20.50 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and escalate issues to store management as needed.
• Report losses caused by outdated or damaged merchandise to management.
• Use the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately for scanning and processing purchases; notify management of any scanning problems.
• Follow cash handling procedures rigorously.
• Open extra checkout lanes pursuant to the line policy to promote efficient transactions.
• Stock shelves and displays in accordance with merchandising plans to optimize sales.
• Complete curbside pickup orders by gathering items correctly and delivering them promptly to customers’ vehicles.
• Maintain store cleanliness, zone standards, and merchandising guidelines consistently.
• Support management in reaching operational efficiency and loss prevention goals.
• Comply fully with company policies, safety standards, and inventory protocols.
• Identify workplace hazards, promote ergonomic practices, and ensure all equipment is safely maintained and functional.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent physical activity including pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, reaching, grasping, twisting, bending, and moving throughout the store.
• Ability to lift, carry, and place merchandise weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights.
• Operate equipment such as cash registers, hand jacks (electric and manual), floor scrubbers, and cardboard balers.
• Work in varying temperature environments including freezers and coolers.
• Use various cleaning agents and tools safely.

Qualifications

• Deliver prompt and courteous service to customers.
• Competently operate store equipment including registers, scrubbers, balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
• Understand and apply ALDI’s operating policies and procedures effectively.
• Communicate clearly both verbally and written.
• Perform basic arithmetic operations.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Work independently as well as part of a team.
• Organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks efficiently within established timelines.
• Maintain dependable attendance and meet scheduling requirements.

Education and Experience

• Minimum age 18 years.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous retail experience is desirable but not mandatory.
