Full-Time Store Associate

Job Overview

This full-time position involves merchandising, stocking, cashiering, and maintaining cleanliness to ensure a positive shopping environment. Collaborating with the team, you will play a key role in delivering excellent customer service and supporting store operations.

Work Schedule and Compensation

• Position type: Full-Time
• Average work hours: Over 30 hours weekly
• Starting pay: $18.50 per hour
• Scheduled pay increases: Year 2 - $19.00/hr, Year 3 & 4 - $19.50/hr, Year 5 - $20.50/hr

Key Responsibilities

• Exemplify outstanding customer service and escalate issues to management when necessary.
• Report losses caused by outdated or damaged stock.
• Operate the point-of-sale system accurately and report scanning errors to management.
• Follow cash handling policies precisely.
• Manage checkout line flow by opening additional registers when needed.
• Stock shelves neatly following merchandising guidelines to maximize sales.
• Accurately fulfill curbside pickup orders and ensure prompt vehicle delivery.
• Maintain merchandising and zone standards consistently.
• Support management in meeting operational efficiency and loss prevention targets.
• Comply fully with company policies and procedures.
• Promote a safe workplace by identifying hazards, practicing good ergonomics, and maintaining equipment in safe condition.
• Follow proper inventory and product handling procedures.
• Perform general cleaning to company standards.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, reaching, twisting, bending, and walking required.
• Ability to lift and place items weighing up to 45 pounds at various heights, including overhead.
• Operate equipment such as cash registers, pallet jacks (manual and electric), floor scrubbers, and cardboard balers.
• Working in environments with varied temperatures including freezer and cooler sections.
• Use of glass and multipurpose cleaning products.

Qualifications and Skills

• Provide timely and courteous service to customers.
• Skillfully operate store equipment including registers, pallet jacks, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, handheld devices, and computers.
• Understand and follow ALDI’s policies and procedures.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic mathematical abilities including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Follow instructions carefully with keen attention to detail.
• Capable of working independently and collaboratively.
• Organize and prioritize tasks to enhance productivity within deadlines.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Meet availability requirements.

Education and Experience

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous retail work experience preferred.
