Full-Time Store Associate

Position Overview

As a Store Associate, you will be responsible for ensuring a quality customer shopping experience by efficiently stocking merchandise, managing checkout operations, and maintaining store cleanliness. Working closely with your team, you will uphold store standards and provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.

Work Schedule and Compensation

This is a full-time role with an average commitment of 30 or more hours each week. The starting wage is $19.00 per hour, with annual increases as follows: $19.50 in year two, $20.00 in years three and four, and $21.00 in year five.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate excellent customer service behaviors and escalate customer concerns appropriately to management.
• Report any losses caused by damaged or expired products to store management.
• Use the point-of-sale system accurately to process purchases and notify management of any scanning issues.
• Adhere to established cash handling policies and procedures.
• Open additional checkout lanes during peak times to maintain efficient service flow.
• Stock shelves and displays according to merchandising planograms to enhance product visibility and sales.
• Prepare and fulfill curbside pickup orders with accuracy and timeliness, ensuring proper customer delivery.
• Maintain designated store zones and merchandising standards consistently.
• Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency and inventory loss reduction goals.
• Comply with all company policies and contribute to a safe and hazard-free work environment.
• Follow inventory procedures and handle products according to company guidelines.
• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks to uphold store cleanliness standards.

Physical Requirements

• Engage in activities including pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, reaching, grasping, twisting, bending, and moving throughout the store.
• Lift, carry, and place merchandise weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights, including overhead.
• Operate equipment such as cash registers, hand and electric pallet jacks, floor scrubbers, and cardboard balers.
• Work in different temperature zones, including freezers and coolers.
• Use glass and multipurpose cleaning agents safely.

Qualifications and Skills

• Provide prompt, courteous customer service with strong interpersonal skills.
• Competently operate store equipment including registers, cleaning machines, and pallet jacks.
• Understand and apply company operating policies effectively.
• Communicate clearly and effectively in both verbal and written forms.
• Perform basic mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Follow instructions carefully, demonstrating attention to detail.
• Work independently and collaboratively with coworkers.
• Organize and prioritize workload to meet productivity targets within set timelines.
• Maintain consistent and reliable attendance and meet scheduling requirements.

Education and Experience

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous retail experience is advantageous but not required.
