General Merchandise Associate

Overview

Joining Walmart Canada as a General Merchandise Associate offers an opportunity to enhance your retail skills through active customer engagement and store support. This role involves delivering excellent customer service in line with Walmart's core principles, maintaining the presentation and organization of merchandise, and assisting with inventory and sales tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and respectful greetings to all customers, assist them by recommending products or services, helping locate items, facilitating purchase decisions, and resolving issues or escalating concerns appropriately.
• Manage and oversee assigned sales floor sections to ensure proper stock and presentation.
• Maintain and zone merchandise displays effectively within designated areas.
• Relocate feature merchandise to assigned modular sections as needed.
• Handle merchandise recovery from Customer Service and other store locations.
• Support Front End operations when required to maintain smooth processes.
• Collaborate with colleagues to guarantee continuous floor coverage during shifts.
• Promote a safe, clean, and hazard-free work environment by following company policies, completing safety checks, and securing displays and fixtures.
• Stock shelves, pick items for customers, perform downstocking tasks as applicable, apply product protection where necessary, and set up modular displays including flexible modulars and updating shelf caps.

Minimum Compensation

The starting wage for this role is $16.90 per hour.
