Role Overview

The Merchandise Coordinator role involves managing receiving and merchandising processes while ensuring Associates perform tasks efficiently and collaboratively. Delivering exceptional customer interactions and maintaining neat, organized store areas are priorities. This role also exemplifies superior customer service standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Foster positive experiences for both internal and external customers.
• Promote a culture rooted in honesty, integrity, and confidentiality.
• Manage inbound truck deliveries, prioritizing merchandise processing for store display.
• Provide training and mentorship on merchandising and processing practices to Associates.
• Ensure merchandise is correctly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
• Coordinate with the Coordinator on Duty to maintain smooth merchandise flow to the sales floor.
• Oversee completion of store tasks by Associates, adjusting priorities as necessary.
• Monitor team productivity and provide coaching when needed.
• Organize back stock for efficient replenishment and regular rotation.
• Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards consistently.
• Keep backroom areas tidy, organized, and compliant with recovery standards.
• Ensure adherence to recycling and hazardous waste guidelines where applicable.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with management and staff regarding priorities and progress.
• Give and receive constructive feedback and recognition.
• Collaborate with management to identify and address Associate training needs, enhancing team effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with all labor laws, company policies, and procedures.
• Support sales by promoting credit and loyalty programs.
• Participate actively in store shrink reduction initiatives.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety and a secure workplace.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Flexibility to work varying schedules, including nights and weekends.
• Excellent communication abilities and strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Adaptability to handle changes or unexpected situations effectively.
• Team-oriented mindset collaborating well with supervisors and peers.
• Ability to lift heavy items, with or without accommodation.
• Skill in training others.
• Minimum of one year retail experience and at least six months in a leadership role.

Location and Compensation

Position is based at USA HomeGoods Store 1168 Suwanee, GA, 3630 Peachtree Pkwy Ste 201. The starting pay range is $14.25 to $14.75 per hour, determined by experience and qualifications.
