Position Summary

This role requires the execution of receiving and merchandising standards, ensuring associates handle merchandise efficiently while fostering teamwork. Delivering an exceptional customer experience through proactive engagement and maintaining a well-organized and clean store environment are key responsibilities. The position involves acting as a role model for outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate a favorable experience for both internal teams and customers by fostering positive interactions.
• Uphold values of honesty and integrity while maintaining confidentiality.
• Manage truck deliveries by prioritizing merchandise processing onto the sales floor.
• Provide training and mentoring to associates on established merchandising and processing methods.
• Ensure merchandise is accurately tagged, displayed securely, and coded properly.
• Coordinate with the Coordinator on Duty to optimize merchandise flow to the sales area.
• Oversee task completion according to the store plan, adjusting priorities as necessary.
• Monitor and coach team productivity to improve performance.
• Organize and rotate back stock for efficient restocking.
• Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards throughout the store.
• Keep backroom areas orderly, clean, and compliant with recovery standards.
• Ensure adherence to recycling programs and hazardous waste management where applicable.
• Communicate priorities and progress effectively with management and associates.
• Offer recognition and constructive feedback to team members.
• Collaborate with management to identify and address associate training needs to boost effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with all labor laws, company policies, and procedures.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs to customers.
• Participate in and support store shrink reduction initiatives.
• Maintain awareness of safety protocols and contribute to a safe work environment.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Candidate Profile

• Ability to work flexible schedules including evening and weekend shifts.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities or unexpected circumstances.
• Collaborative team player working effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
• Physical capability to lift heavy items, with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Experience in training others.
• Minimum of 1 year of retail experience and at least 6 months in a leadership role.

Location and Compensation

This position is based at the HomeGoods Store #0558 in Tupelo, Mississippi, located at 1001 Barnes Crossing. The starting wage ranges from USD 13.50 to 14.00 per hour, determined by qualifications, skills, and experience.
