Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled Estimator to join the Darwin Precontracts team, with potential consideration for a Senior Estimator role for suitable candidates. This role involves collaborating with the Estimating Manager and other team members to develop competitive tenders for a varied selection of building projects across the Northern Territory.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform building measurements and prepare quantity take-offs.
- Handle subcontractor and supplier pricing requests.
- Review and assess subcontractor quotes and pricing proposals.
- Develop detailed cost estimates and prepare tender pricing.
- Assist in compiling tender submissions and necessary documentation.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, construction teams, and subcontractors during the tender stage.
- Provide support for smooth project handover once tenders are awarded.
Required Skills and Experience
- Experience estimating for commercial building projects, preferably including Defence-related work.
- Strong commercial acumen and analytical capabilities.
- Proficiency with Expert Estimation software or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 is a plus.
- Ability to build strong communication and relationship networks.
- Team-oriented mindset with capability to contribute effectively in a high-performing environment.
