Role Overview
This Electrical Testing Technician position, based in Ireland, focuses on conducting Testing, Inspection, and Certification of all Kirby's Electrical Installations, ensuring strict adherence to national regulations and electrical safety standards.
Key Duties
- Enforce and oversee Lock Out-Tag Out (LOTO) and Control of Hazardous Energy (COHE) procedures on relevant projects, acting as the appointed person (AP) when required.
- Conduct thorough Pre-Test Inspections by physically reviewing field installations and produce detailed reports citing any compliance issues.
- Communicate any non-conformances or safety hazards encountered on site to the Project Manager and Quality Control lead.
- Perform tests on Low Voltage installations aligned with national standards, issuing comprehensive reports and snag lists.
- Prepare and deliver 'As Built' Test Certificates and associated documentation.
- Verify redlined drawings corresponding to the Low Voltage installations under test and update cable schedules and Distribution Board (DB) schedules for Operations & Maintenance (O&M) inclusion.
- Complete test record sheets in accordance with international norms and manage electrical safe systems of work on site when designated AP.
- Periodic inspection and surveying of electrical installations to ensure ongoing compliance and safety.
- Inspect and test main and sub-main distribution boards, transformer cabling, and final sub-circuits.
- Support resolution of project-related issues, investigations, and queries.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed rigorously, especially relating to electrical meters and personal protective equipment (PPE) such as ARC flash gear.
- Issue final certification documents upon project completion.
- Maintain confidentiality of information and adhere to the Kirby Information Security Management System (ISMS).
