Role Purpose and Environment

Operating under the supervision of the Lead MEP Coordinator, the MEP Detailer is accountable for delivering comprehensive 3D and 2D coordination outputs during projects. Working predominantly onsite within a BIM environment, the role involves close collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams to meet project milestones, quality standards, schedules, and budgets. When not allocated to specific projects, the Detailer will be office-based, assisting with smaller projects and tender preparations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide thorough coordination support to project teams by delivering required 3D and 2D BIM deliverables as outlined by the BIM lead.
• Produce detailed 3D models using software such as Revit and Fabrication CAD.
• Create and update 2D coordination and installation drawings accurately.
• Conduct continuous clash detection of detailed models against federated models, typically every 30 minutes, to ensure coordination and clash-free files.
• Manage Vault file administration and ensure proper file formatting for submissions.
• Attend project coordination meetings and actively contribute to BIM process support across all parties.
• Assist in resolving clashes observed on-site through effective communication with relevant teams.
• Verify and prepare layout drawings compliant with contract requirements.
• Collaborate with project engineers and management to address design challenges and provide adjusted drawings as necessary.
• Generate verified record drawings and maintain detailed coordination document registers.
• Conduct site surveying and verification tasks, including point cloud scanning and total station operations.
• Support tender-related drawing preparation and business unit requirements as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possess a third-level qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or have a robust trades background complemented by BIM certification.
• Hold minimum of three years’ experience fulfilling BIM Coordination duties within Mechanical or Electrical disciplines.
• Exhibit proven leadership capabilities in related roles.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills and effective organisational capabilities.
• Ability to perform efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
