Role Purpose

Reporting to the Lead MEP Coordinator, the MEP Detailer is tasked with delivering 2D and 3D coordination milestones for projects, working primarily onsite within a BIM environment. The role involves working closely with project teams, supporting BIM processes, and occasionally assisting with smaller projects and tender documentation when not engaged on major projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist project teams with all coordination deliverables.
• Produce 3D and 2D deliverables as defined by BIM leads.
• Support the Lead MEP Coordinator by creating 2D coordination and installation drawings.
• Develop 3D components required for design and coordination.
• Collaborate within the BIM process to support all involved parties.
• Maintain teamwork to ensure timely, safe, and quality project completion.
• Detail 3D elements necessary for design and coordination using Revit and Fabrication CAD.
• Ensure models remain clash-free through continuous clash detection and coordination with federated models every 30 minutes.
• Manage Vault file administration and submit all files in the correct format.
• Participate in weekly coordination meetings as required.
• Assist with on-site clash resolution and verification of layout drawings aligning with contract requirements.
• Engage in site surveying and verification, including use of point cloud scanning and total station equipment.
• Produce verified record drawings and maintain all coordination document registers and drawings.
• Contribute to tender processes and other drawing requests within the business unit.

BIM Development

• Work within designated project teams to enhance knowledge in mechanical and electrical systems related to 3D coordination.
• Gain insight into on-site coordination, fabrication, and construction processes.
• Attend coordination meetings to improve communication skills.
• Opportunity to progress to Lead MEP Coordinator based on readiness and BIM manager assessment.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

• Third-level qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or equivalent trades background combined with a BIM qualification.
• At least 3 years of experience in a BIM Coordination role.
• Mechanical or electrical expertise with a proven track record in a similar position.
• Demonstrated leadership ability.
• Strong communication and organizational capabilities.
• Capacity to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
