Role Overview
Join a globally recognised consultancy firm as a Principal Electrical Engineer to spearhead electrical design projects for advanced data centres and mission-critical infrastructure. You will be responsible for developing robust, highly available high-voltage and low-voltage power systems, including uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), generator backup solutions, and switchgear tailored for prominent global hyperscale technology clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead designs of dependable high-voltage and low-voltage power distribution networks, including standby power and uninterruptible power systems.
- Conduct advanced electrical computations such as fault analyses, cable sizing, and protection coordination strategies.
- Manage and review electrical design deliverables, assure quality standards, and collaborate effectively with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) disciplines.
- Maintain direct engagement with major clients and essential project stakeholders to align on specifications and expectations.
Candidate Requirements
- Possess a degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or a closely related discipline.
- Exhibit a strong professional background in data centres or critical power system design and implementation.
- Demonstrate proficiency with engineering software tools including ETAP, Amtech, AutoCAD, Revit, or Dialux.
- Have sound knowledge of electrical standards applicable in Ireland, Europe, and internationally.
