Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee customs procedures for imports and exports in Saudi Arabia, ensuring prompt and compliant declarations and shipment release.
  • Operate daily customs platforms such as Fasah and Bayan to submit declarations, monitor shipment statuses, calculate duties and taxes, and manage release processes.
  • Examine customs documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, HS codes, declared values, and country of origin for accuracy.
  • Liaise with government regulatory bodies via platforms like SABER, SFDA, CITC, and GACA for necessary approvals.
  • Resolve customs clearance complications including inspections, missing paperwork, declaration inconsistencies, seizure of shipments, and other exceptions to achieve timely problem resolution.
  • Collaborate closely with departments like Sales, Operations, Warehouse, Transportation, Finance, customers, and other entities to address customs-related challenges and ensure smooth operations.
  • Stay informed on updates to Saudi Arabian customs laws and other related government regulations, identify compliance risks, and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor customs operation metrics and key performance indicators and contribute to continuous process improvements to boost clearance effectiveness.
  • Fulfill other customs operation duties as assigned by management.

Candidate Requirements

  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in Logistics, International Trade, Supply Chain, Customs, Business Administration, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience with Saudi customs clearance, freight forwarding, express delivery, logistics services, or third-party logistics (3PL) within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
  • Practical knowledge of KSA customs clearance processes and platforms including Fasah and Bayan.
  • Understanding of KSA and GCC HS coding systems, customs duties and taxes, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong skills in problem-solving, handling exceptions, communication, and collaborating across teams.
  • Proficiency in data management and Microsoft Excel, with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Fluent English language skills; Arabic communication is advantageous. Certifications or training related to ZATCA/Fasah or SABER/SASO are preferred.
