Job description
Role Overview
As an Internal Audit Manager, you will independently verify the effectiveness of organizational risk management, governance, and control procedures. You will conduct thorough evaluations across various business units to assess risk handling, operational efficiency, and the adequacy of internal controls. The role also involves providing consultative advice to management for system and process enhancements, supporting evidence-based stakeholder communication. Considerations such as corporate reputation, growth prospects, environmental impact, employee treatment, and ethical practices form part of your auditing responsibilities.
Key Duties
- Design and conduct audit projects including data analytics and test procedures.
- Examine and interpret financial records and corresponding documentation.
- Assess internal control frameworks to ensure compliance with legal standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and identify internal control weaknesses or anomalies.
- Detect and investigate suspected fraudulent or irregular financial activities.
- Draft and deliver audit findings reports to relevant management teams.
- Partner with external auditors and legal advisors during formal audits and regulatory evaluations.
- Track the progress of audit recommendations and oversee corrective actions.
- Keep current with evolving regulations and best practices in the internal audit field.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a closely related discipline.
- Professional credentials such as AICPA, CIA, or Chartered Accountant certification.
- A minimum of six years’ experience in internal audit or finance roles, ideally within Big Four firms.
- In-depth knowledge of US GAAP, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
- Skilled in data analysis tools along with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Experience in audit planning, risk assessment, and internal control evaluation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively across all organizational levels.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking capabilities.
- Capable of working independently, collaboratively, or leading audit teams.
- Fluency in both Chinese and English, with advanced written and verbal skills.
- High ethical standards with strict confidentiality adherence.
- Adaptability to changing regulatory environments and audit practices.
