Role Summary

We are seeking a Buyer to join our Supply Chain team supporting the launch of our first European manufacturing facility in Athenry, Ireland. This role involves coordinating purchasing efforts in collaboration with manufacturing, planning, and engineering teams to ensure timely and cost-efficient acquisition of inventory.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and expedite purchase orders based on Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and inventory thresholds.
• Develop supplier forecasts and manage purchasing operations for both direct and indirect materials within the assigned portfolio.
• Define and implement effective inventory strategies to meet business goals.
• Provide feedback on bill of materials (BOM) components within the ERP system.
• Support supplier relationship management and collaborate closely with suppliers and quality assurance to address quality issues.
• Monitor and control inventory levels, minimize excess and obsolete stock.
• Suggest cost-saving initiatives and review supplier delivery performance.
• Assist in resolving price variances, accounts payable discrepancies, and material review board (MRB) dispositions promptly.
• Participate in supplier business reviews and manage supplier interactions regarding engineering change orders.
• Ensure compliance with US FDA regulations, company quality systems, policies, and procedures.
• Support local sourcing projects in partnership with Corporate Procurement.

Candidate Profile

• Experience with ERP systems, preferably Oracle, though not mandatory.
• Strong understanding of planning processes, MRP, and master production scheduling (MPS) related to purchasing.
• Previous experience within the medical device industry or a similar sector.
• Knowledge of configuration management concerning item master data and bills of materials.
• Demonstrated initiative in developing and implementing process improvements.
• Self-driven with excellent communication skills and ability to lead cross-functional collaboration.

Education & Experience

A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is typically required, accompanied by 2 to 5 years of pertinent experience.

Salaries for this role range from €47,515 to €61,490 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
