Role Overview
We are seeking a Lab Technician III specialized in Chemistry to join our production team in Athenry. This role involves managing GMP-compliant chemistry lab processes, overseeing manufacturing activities related to Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGMs), and maintaining laboratory instruments through calibration, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will develop into a subject matter expert and assume leadership within the manufacturing chemistry domain.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor solutions and raw material manufacturing procedures.
- Conduct testing on raw materials and finished goods, including assessments of pH, conductivity, and viscosity.
- Perform equipment calibration, installation qualification, operation qualification, maintenance, and address technical issues.
- Track and analyze data trends, report deviations or out-of-specifications, and support root cause investigations.
- Prepare detailed experimental reports, summaries, and protocol documentation.
- Adhere strictly to quality management system policies and promote Right First Time principles.
- Maintain complete, compliant documentation in line with GMP standards.
- Follow all safety protocols and advocate for a safe laboratory environment.
- Fulfill assigned tasks and deliverables as directed by supervisors.
- Carry out additional duties as required.
Candidate Profile
- Possesses between 4 to 6 years of relevant experience coupled with a Leaving Certificate/equivalent qualification (Level 5), or alternatively, holds a Level 8 degree with up to 1 year experience.
- Experience within medical device or pharmaceutical manufacturing environments, particularly under cleanroom conditions.
- Hands-on background in chemistry laboratories supporting production operations.
- Strong attention to detail including the capability to troubleshoot laboratory equipment effectively.
- Demonstrates punctuality and efficient task completion.
- Collaborative team player with a growth-oriented mindset.
- Proven ability to perform in a fast-moving work setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
