Overview
Tapi Carpets & Floors, a leading flooring retailer dedicated to transforming the carpet and flooring shopping experience, is seeking a passionate and dynamic Assistant Store Manager to join the team in Kingston Upon Hull. This role involves supporting the Store Manager in various store functions and driving success through excellent customer service, team leadership, and sales achievement.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the store team to consistently exceed customer expectations and create memorable shopping experiences.
- Act as the Store Manager's deputy, overseeing all aspects of store operations in their absence.
- Contribute to store management tasks including setting and achieving sales targets and motivating the team effectively.
- Train and support the store team to deliver the unique "Tapi difference" in customer service.
- Assist in onboarding new team members, facilitating smooth inductions under the Store Manager’s guidance.
- Drive personal sales targets and encourage team members to surpass theirs.
- Maintain an outstanding store appearance and actively participate in promotional activities and changes.
- Address customer complaints professionally, ensuring positive resolutions even in challenging situations.
- Continuously seek improvements in customer satisfaction, colleague engagement, and overall business performance.
- Regularly utilize Tapi’s technological systems to accurately record customer orders.
- Adhere strictly to all Health, Safety, and Security policies established by Tapi.

- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to understand and connect with people, convincing them through consultative sales techniques.
- Self-driven, enthusiastic, and a natural leader who motivates others by example with charm and energy.
- A balanced focus on achieving sales while maintaining excellent customer service.
- Confident in handling difficult conversations with sound judgment and professionalism.

- Comfortable with technology and adept at using store systems; eager to learn if unfamiliar.
