Role Overview
The Applied AI Engineer for Agents & Automations will advance our North platform—an AI workspace that enables enterprises to safely and flexibly integrate AI within their workflows. This role focuses on creating dependable, user-friendly AI experiences that empower users to build, evaluate, and enhance automated workflows embedded in enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop AI-powered product features that help users create, configure, evaluate, and optimize workflows within North.
- Design and launch new user interfaces for interacting with AI models, including workflow builders, proactive assistants, review mechanisms, and other patterns for human-AI collaboration.
- Implement evaluation, monitoring, and feedback frameworks to assess AI effectiveness in real-world enterprise workflows.
- Enhance AI dependability through thoughtful product design, prompt engineering, context setup, tool utilization strategies, instrumentation, and iterative feedback.
- Analyze production errors, user input, and task data to improve product behavior, build comprehensive evaluation suites, regression tests, and inform model development.
- Collaborate closely with teams from modeling, product management, design, customer success, and domain experts to define quality standards and deliver impactful improvements.
- Assess when workflows require refined interfaces, strengthened evaluation, or deeper modeling initiatives.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experience deploying LLM (Large Language Model)-powered or agent-assisted product experiences to production and iteratively enhancing them based on user feedback.
- Proficient software engineering skills spanning backend, frontend, data analysis, evaluation frameworks, and understanding of model behaviors.
- User-centric and results-driven mindset focused on both user outcomes and system reliability beyond mere model metrics.
- Strong product intuition and care about how interfaces, workflows, and models synergize to deliver user success.
- Aptitude for dissecting complex real-world failures and converting insights from production data and testing into long-lasting enhancements.
- Comfortable taking ownership of ambiguous challenges across system boundaries to deliver genuinely valuable solutions.
Compensation and Perks
- Annual salary ranging from CA$215,000 to CA$310,000.
- Weekly lunch stipend equivalent to $75 (local currency).
