Role Overview
The Data Abstractions & Tools team within North manages the data importation, organization, and sharing mechanisms, including file and knowledge base handling, extension frameworks for agent skills and integrations, and data synchronization pipelines connecting enterprise data to North's AI agents. This role is responsible for the end-to-end management of the integration pipeline, including building new tool integrations and maintaining existing ones, ensuring repeatable and efficient processes, and developing evaluations and tests to maintain integration reliability.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design and implement new integrations on the North agentic platform, and maintain those already live in production.
- Manage the full lifecycle of the integration pipeline—from design and development through deployment to ongoing maintenance.
- Assist peers in integrating their own tools while continuously improving team standards and methods.
- Develop evaluation frameworks and tests to verify integration functionality and detect regressions promptly.
- Optimize tool descriptions to enhance performance based on user feedback and evaluation results.
- Employ AI actively in development tasks, ensuring high-quality and dependable deliverables.
Desired Qualifications and Attributes
- Experience shipping production-grade code and building integrations with external APIs.
- Knowledge or experience evaluating agentic AI systems, familiarity with evaluation processes, prompt engineering, and tool description tuning is advantageous.
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-evolving environment with dynamic priorities.
- Self-driven with strong initiative to learn rapidly and implement changes independently.
- Proven track record of end-to-end ownership of projects with a dedication to quality outcomes.
- Collaborative mindset with enthusiasm for enabling fellow engineers' success in addition to personal contributions.
