Your Role and Responsibilities

As Engineering Manager leading the Algorithms team (focusing on the Revenue Management Engine), you will manage a group responsible for the central component of the product—pricing and forecasting engines used by thousands of hotels. You will oversee the development of pricing algorithms, forecasting models, and supporting data pipelines.

• Lead and develop a capable team of four engineers in charge of pricing, forecasting, and data pipelines ensuring delivery excellence and operational reliability.
• Conduct regular one-on-ones, performance assessments, and career growth initiatives to foster team development.
• Recruit, onboard, and maintain a well-rounded and capable engineering team.
• Collaborate closely with Product Management; challenge and influence product direction and priorities effectively.
• Translate complex business objectives into actionable engineering strategies with clear, measurable goals and timelines driven by data metrics such as backtesting and model performance.
• Balance fast delivery with sustainable technical practices, addressing technical debt and scalability concerns proactively.
• Stay technically involved by reviewing designs and code, and provide hands-on support when required, while primarily focusing on leadership rather than routine coding.
• Maintain team focus and protect from external pressures to uphold healthy team dynamics.
• Lead initiatives to improve engineering workflows, processes, and operational excellence within Product and Engineering departments.

Candidate Profile

• Proven software engineering expertise with experience in building and managing large-scale production systems, ideally with backend, algorithm, or data-centric technology depth.
• Minimum 5 years professional experience, including multiple years in people management and performance oversight roles.
• Experience managing other managerial roles (e.g., Associate Engineering Manager or Team Leads) is advantageous.
• Strong product orientation with the confidence to question and co-shape product development decisions.
• Technical credibility to engage hands-on as needed while predominantly executing leadership functions.
• Familiarity or experience with technologies such as Python/Django backend frameworks, and data technologies including Snowflake, dbt, and Dagster is preferred.
• Solid knowledge of system design, architecture principles, and established engineering best practices.
• Excellent communication skills with a leadership style focused on fostering trust, clarity, and accountability within teams.
• Proactive in spearheading technical improvements across organizational levels.
• Proficiency in English and resident in a European time zone between UTC+0 to UTC+2.

Compensation

Salary range for this full-time role is €100,000 to €110,000 annually.
