Role Overview

We are seeking an innovative AI Engineering Manager to lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced AI and machine learning solutions. This role involves overseeing a small engineering team to build scalable, safe, and dependable AI applications that directly enhance our customers’ business operations. Particular focus areas include large language models (LLMs) and foundational AI models customized for small business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver machine learning systems from inception, specializing in features such as automated document understanding, financial forecasting, and conversational AI interfaces.
• Scale AI solutions efficiently using AWS cloud services including SageMaker and Bedrock, ensuring robust deployment and monitoring pipelines.
• Lead end-to-end project execution from concept through production, implementing MLOps best practices including containerization, CI/CD, and model version control.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to align AI initiatives with business goals and customer requirements.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Strong proficiency with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch, and experience with LLM and foundation models such as GPT, Claude, or Llama.
• Proven leadership capabilities with experience in mentoring and guiding engineering teams.
• Comprehensive knowledge of AWS cloud-native services, including SageMaker, Bedrock, and S3.
• Expertise in MLOps practices encompassing CI/CD pipelines, model monitoring, versioning, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Passion for creating AI solutions that address tangible challenges faced by small businesses.
• Aptitude for innovation, analytical thinking, and problem-solving in dynamic, uncertain environments.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• Certifications such as AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty are highly regarded.
