AI Engineer - Software Development

Overview

Seatrium is seeking a skilled AI Engineer to design, develop, and sustain comprehensive AI and machine learning solutions. This role involves building end-to-end ML pipelines, collaborating with data scientists, optimizing models for production environments, and ensuring AI systems adhere to ethical and governance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain complete AI/ML pipelines including data collection, preprocessing, model training, deployment, and analytics monitoring.
• Work closely with data scientists and domain specialists to operationalize experimental AI models focusing on scalability, latency, and dataset quality.
• Implement and promote MLOps best practices such as continuous integration/delivery for ML code, model version control, and feature store management using modern frameworks.
• Enhance model inference performance for production through techniques like TensorRT, ONNX optimization, pruning, and quantization.
• Write reliable and maintainable code collaboratively utilizing GitHub.
• Integrate AI systems into enterprise IT infrastructure using APIs and cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
• Ensure that deployed AI models satisfy business requirements and comply with responsible AI and regulatory standards.
• Deliver technical support and training to end users and stakeholders.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues within the AI systems.
• Participate in business analysis, technical design discussions, and system documentation.
• Collaborate cross-functionally for smooth day-to-day AI operations and compliance with industry regulations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, or a related quantitative discipline; PhD preferred.
• At least 5 to 7 years of professional experience in AI/ML development and cloud deployment with 3 to 4 years dedicated to production-grade AI solutions.
• Demonstrated success in managing AI/ML initiatives from inception through production deployment and monitoring.
• Experience in a regulated sector, particularly maritime industry in Singapore, is an advantage.
• Strong analytical thinking capabilities and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Capability to handle multiple projects and priorities concurrently.

Location: Seatrium (SG) Pte. Ltd., Pioneer Yard, 50 Gul Road, Singapore 629351; islandwide transport provided.
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:15 PM; Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
