Job description

Overview

Take charge of daily yard operations at the Vehicle Processing Center (VPC), overseeing smooth and safe vehicle movements including receiving, parking, checking, storage, preparation, and dispatch. Maintain impeccable inventory records, ensure vehicle quality, operational proficiency, and uphold stringent safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee vehicle intake, vehicle check-in, unloading processes, and yard admission.
  • Manage the transfer of vehicles from the arrival area through inspections, pre-delivery inspections (PDI), storage zones, and outbound loading and dispatch points.
  • Ensure that vehicles are parked correctly in assigned spots and update their exact locations within the system.
  • Track vehicle inventory levels, monitor aging stock, identify damaged units, and manage dispatch priorities.
  • Organize vehicle condition and quality assessments including damage checks and documentation verifications.
  • Confirm vehicle identity through VIN/chassis scanning using barcode readers, PDA devices, or system tools.
  • Collaborate closely with departments such as PDI, Quality Control, Transporters, Security, Sales, Warehouse, and Logistics to ensure seamless operations.
  • Design daily movement plans for vehicles based on dispatch schedules and operational priorities.
  • Supervise transporter and driver coordination, shuttle services, and loading processes.
  • Coordinate safe vehicle staging and preparation for loading onto trucks or car carriers.
  • Verify all necessary shipment paperwork including shipping documents, delivery notes, vehicle info, and destination details.
  • Monitor vehicle transaction flows inbound and outbound while maintaining precise records.
  • Identify and report any vehicle damages, missing accessories, faults, or inconsistencies in documentation.
  • Apply FIFO, FEFO, or organizational dispatch protocols as required.
  • Monitor yard capacity and optimize utilization of parking space.
  • Conduct routine operational checks daily and promptly report any unsafe situations or incidents.
  • Track labor, equipment usage, and vehicle handling productivity versus set daily targets.
  • Compile and present daily and weekly operation reports along with KPI dashboards for performance monitoring.

Qualifications

  • A Diploma or Bachelor's degree specializing in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Automotive Studies, Operations Management, or related disciplines.
