Role Responsibilities

• Accurately and safely identify underground utilities including telecommunications, electric power, cable TV, gas, water, and sewer lines.
• Methodically inspect designated areas to detect underground utilities, precisely mark their locations, complete required documentation, and photograph each locate for record purposes.

Working Conditions and Schedule

This full-time role involves daytime work with the flexibility to work overtime, weekend shifts, holiday shifts, and on-call hours, including nights and weekends based on business needs. A typical turnaround time for locates is 48 hours, requiring availability on some weekends and days following holidays. Work is conducted outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Candidate Requirements

• Willingness and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions; prior outdoor work experience is advantageous.
• Comfort with technology use in the workplace.
• Availability to work overtime, weekends, and be on-call as the business requires.
• Ability to successfully pass a drug screening due to safety-sensitive job nature.
• Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Physical ability to operate in confined spaces, walk extensively, bend, and lift up to 75 pounds.
• Capability to distinguish color codes used for identifying wiring and underground utilities.
• Competence in reading and interpreting locate tickets, maps, and technical prints.
• Effective verbal communication skills for interacting with coworkers, contractors, customers, and homeowners.
