General Utility Worker

Overview

The General Utility role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of kitchen workspaces, equipment, utensils, and plateware. This position also contributes to food preparation tasks and supports a culture guided by the company’s core values, mission, and vision aligned with the TSFR Roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

• Scrape and pre-rinse food from soiled dishes, loading them into dishwashing machines (around 50% of time).
• Wash pots, pans, and trays manually or with machines (approximately 15% of time).
• Perform all designated food preparation tasks (about 10% of duties).
• Dispose of trash and garbage by transporting it to the dumpster (around 10% of time).
• Clean work tables, walls, refrigerators, cooking equipment, and floors routinely (5% of duties).
• Sanitize garbage bins and trash receptacles regularly (5% of time).
• Set up, maintain, and dismantle dishwashing machines as required (5%).
• Carry items weighing up to 50 pounds multiple times daily, and place items on shelves at varying heights.
• Primarily work indoors (90%) with occasional outdoor tasks (10%).
• Operate effectively in hot and humid environments and respond appropriately during emergencies to ensure safety.

Physical and Mental Requirements

• Ability to read and understand documents like manuals and contracts, write routine reports, and communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.
• Capable of solving practical problems where standardized procedures may be limited.
• Frequently required physical activities include sitting, talking, hearing, walking, using hands and fingers, and reaching with arms.
• Must cope with wet floors, temperature variations, loud noise, and be able to bend, stoop, lift, and carry heavy dish racks (up to 40 pounds) regularly.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and move around various work areas.
• Vision requirements include close focus and adjustment capabilities.
• Able to work flexibly in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, and handle changes smoothly while communicating clearly with colleagues.
