Job description

Job Overview

Lead the supervision and execution of installation, maintenance, repair, testing, and both predictive and preventive maintenance activities on rotating and static equipment to guarantee optimal equipment availability, reliability, and integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper resources are available to carry out mechanical maintenance tasks safely and within scheduled timelines.
  • Plan, organize, and oversee preventive and predictive maintenance as well as troubleshooting of rotating and static equipment to maintain operational reliability.
  • Monitor progress and completion of assigned tasks, providing comprehensive reports to ensure quality and timely execution.
  • Offer technical guidance, draft scope of work documents and contracts, report costs, and support negotiations for equipment repairs adhering to quality and budget standards.
  • Maintain updated records of refurbished equipment and associated accessories to ensure effective asset management.
  • Lead daily and weekly safety discussions focusing on safe work methods and job task safety.
  • Oversee testing and commissioning of new or modified equipment to verify compliance with established procedures and safety standards.
  • Engage in planning, scheduling, and executing shutdowns and major overhaul maintenance processes.
  • Track inventory of tools, equipment, and spare parts to ensure availability for scheduled work.
  • Prepare requisition lists for maintenance spares, tools, and materials; validate that received items meet specifications.
  • Coordinate logistics for transportation of materials to worksites and collaborate with workshop supervisors regarding the use of heavy machinery and rigging services.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
  • At least 5 years of experience supervising mechanical maintenance operations, preferably within a large industrial setting such as the oil and gas sector.

  • Budget adherence is required according to the approved financial plan.
  • Direct and indirect reports are defined by the organizational chart.
  • Relevant professional certifications are required as appropriate.
