Job description

Job Summary

This position entails overseeing and executing maintenance activities on Instrumentation and Control (I-C) equipment and systems to maintain their availability, dependability, and integrity within the facility.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure necessary resources are available to carry out maintenance tasks on Instrument & Control systems safely and within scheduled timelines.
  • Plan, organize, and supervise preventive and predictive maintenance as well as troubleshooting efforts to sustain equipment reliability and accessibility.
  • Monitor progress of ongoing tasks, conduct inspections, and report on quality and timeliness of maintenance work.
  • Provide technical expertise; develop scopes of work, manage contracts, report costs, and participate in negotiations for equipment repairs maintaining standards and cost efficiency.
  • Maintain up-to-date maintenance documentation including fault reports, logbooks, and refurbished equipment databases to ensure effective asset management.
  • Lead and take part in daily or weekly safety discussions to reinforce safe work practices and procedures.
  • Oversee testing and commissioning of new or modified equipment, verifying conformance to methods and safety requirements.
  • Engage in the preparation, scheduling, and execution of major maintenance events such as shutdowns and overhauls.

Materials Management

  • Track availability of tools, equipment, and spare parts required for maintenance tasks to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Create requisition lists for spares, tools, and materials needed; raise purchase or material requests accordingly.
  • Inspect incoming materials for compliance with specifications and suitability for use.
  • Initiate purchase requisitions for inventory replenishment to maintain adequate stock levels on-site.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma in Instrumentation or Control Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience in the oil and gas sector, with at least three years in a similar supervisory role.

Additional Details

  • Responsible for managing assigned budget as approved in the financial plan.
  • Supervisory responsibilities as defined in the organizational structure, including direct and indirect reports.
  • Professional certifications required as applicable to the role.
