Role Summary

The Store Manager will lead and mentor a team to ensure exceptional service that assists pet owners in selecting the right nutritional products and solutions for their pets. This position is ideal for an individual passionate about pet care and eager to develop professionally within a major North American pet retail brand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the team consistently meets customer service standards and foster respectful relationships with the local community, including organizations like the Humane Society.
  • Handle recruiting, scheduling, training, task assignment, supervision, and coaching of store employees.
  • Guarantee adherence to operational standards and corporate procedures by all staff members.
  • Oversee administrative duties such as ordering inventory, managing store and safety audits, coordinating repairs, and completing required corporate documentation.
  • Drive the store team towards achieving set business performance targets.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support store operations.

Candidate Requirements

  • At least two years of experience in customer service and retail store management.
  • Keen interest in learning and career advancement within the pet care industry.
  • Friendly and outgoing demeanor with excellent customer service capabilities.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and evenings, ensuring reliable attendance.
  • Dependable transportation to commute to the store.
  • Ability to observe, guide, and provide constructive feedback on sales approaches and customer service techniques.
  • Capability to manage interpersonal conflicts within the team and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) systems.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
  • Previous experience in the pet care sector is considered advantageous.
