Job description
About the Role
Join Cadence as a Staff Network Engineer where you will play a vital part in designing, implementing, and managing our global enterprise network infrastructure. Cadence is a leading technology company with over 30 years of expertise in computational software, serving innovative clients across markets such as consumer electronics, hyperscale computing, 5G communications, automotive, aerospace, industrial, and healthcare.
This senior position involves hands-on network engineering, focusing on secure and highly available connectivity across data centres, campuses, and WAN environments. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional IT and Security teams to guide complex network programs throughout their lifecycle from design to operational management.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and implement scalable, resilient data centre and campus network solutions using Cisco, Arista, HPE, and Aruba technologies.
- Manage WAN operations, including the internet edge and SD-WAN integration, ensuring stable routing and robust security posture.
- Lead advanced troubleshooting efforts, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures to minimize network interruptions.
- Collaborate with teams in Data Centre, Storage, Virtualisation, Windows, Unix, Cloud Operations, and Security to provide strategic technical leadership on multi-domain projects.
- Develop and maintain detailed network documentation such as diagrams, standards, and operational runbooks to guarantee supportability and readiness.
- Transition delivered network solutions into Day 2 operations with effective monitoring, alerting, capacity planning, lifecycle, and change management.
- Provide transparent communication on project status, risk factors, and trade-offs to stakeholders and manage multiple initiative timelines and dependencies.
Qualifications and Experience
- 12 to 15 years’ experience in enterprise network architecture, design, deployment, and operational support covering data centre, campus, WAN, and hybrid cloud networks.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Mandatory Cisco certification; CCNP preferred, CCIE viewed as highly advantageous.
- In-depth expertise in routing and switching technologies including BGP, OSPF, EVPN/VXLAN, and high-availability redundancy methods like MLAG/vPC and LACP.
- Strong foundation in network security—covering segmentation, ACLs, firewall integration, and secure remote access—developed in partnership with Security teams.
- Hands-on experience with NAC/AAA technologies such as Cisco ISE and Aruba ClearPass.
- Proven leadership in complex troubleshooting, root cause analysis, incident response, and disciplined change and lifecycle management.
- Competence in designing operationally sustainable solutions featuring monitoring, alerting, capacity management, and thorough documentation.
- Exceptional communication abilities capable of translating sophisticated technical details into clear, executive-level insights.
Additional Skills Preferred
- Experience with SD-WAN design, operation, and hybrid connectivity architectures.
- Familiarity with Cisco VPN, F5 Load Balancers, or equivalent technologies.
- Skills in network automation, telemetry, observability, and scripting to enhance network dependability and reduce recovery time.
Benefits
- Competitive remuneration package.
- 25 days of annual leave entitlement.
- Private healthcare coverage and life insurance.
- Participation in Group Personal Pension Plan.
- Cycle-to-work program and gym membership subsidy.
- Five paid days dedicated to volunteering activities.
- Access to the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
- Opportunity to work with a Fortune 100 company recognized as a Great Place to Work©.
