About the Role
Join Qualcomm's Mixed-Signal IP Digital Design team based in Cork, Ireland, where you will contribute to the development of advanced, high-performance, and energy-efficient mixed-signal IPs. The team comprises architects, ASIC designers, protocol specialists, digital signal processing engineers, and algorithm developers focused on next-generation products in mobile, computing, automotive, and AI fields.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement digital components of mixed-signal IPs, including SerDes, DDR, PLL, DAC, ADC, and sensor interfaces.
- Utilize principles from computer architecture and digital signal processing to enhance power, performance, and area efficiency of IP blocks.
- Employ ASIC design tools such as lint checking, CDC analysis, DFT, synthesis, formal verification, and static timing analysis to validate and refine designs.
- Collaborate with design verification teams to develop test plans, validate the RTL, and resolve issues.
- Partner with physical design teams for floorplanning and physical implementation phases.
- Draft design specifications and comprehensive documentation.
- Support silicon bring-up and debugging activities alongside testing teams.
Candidate Requirements
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline is required.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in ASIC digital design, from microarchitecture definition to RTL coding.
- Proficiency with front-end ASIC design tools including Design Compiler, Fusion Compiler, Modelsim, VCS, Spyglass, and Primetime.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive within a collaborative, high-performance engineering team.
- Preferred experience areas: low-power digital design, computer architecture, digital signal processing algorithms, scripting languages (Python, Perl), and hands-on work with mixed-signal IPs such as SerDes standards (USB, PCIe, MIPI, UFS), DDR PHYs, timing circuits (PLL, DLL, FLL), data converters (DAC, ADC), or sensors.

Additional Information
