Role Summary

As a RISC-V CPU Compiler Engineer, you will enhance and integrate support for Qualcomm's silicon into open source projects. Collaborating with hardware and software engineers, you will focus on optimizing the compilation stack, elevating code generation efficiency, performance, response times, and usability for developers.

Core Responsibilities

• Contribute primarily to the LLVM community by adding features and enhancing performance targeting Qualcomm CPUs with emphasis on the RISC-V architecture.
• Conduct benchmarking and code analysis to identify and implement improvements in LLVM, including workload assessments and comparisons with other architectures and compilers.
• Partner with hardware teams to plan and incorporate support for specific hardware functionalities of Qualcomm silicon in open source projects.
• Gather and analyze user feedback to enhance the usability of compiler tools.
• Research and implement novel optimization frameworks that leverage cutting-edge CPU capabilities.

Required Qualifications

• Proficient knowledge and experience in LLVM development focusing on optimization and code generation.
• Active participation and experience collaborating in open source communities.
• Strong programming skills in C and C++ languages.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Proven history of contributions to the LLVM project.
• Familiarity with RISC-V or AArch64 CPU architectures.
• Experience with other compiler ecosystems such as GCC, and related tooling including glibc, assemblers, linkers, loaders, and system libraries.
• Competence in configuring, compiling, and analyzing server CPU benchmark suites like SPECrate Integer and DCPerf, alongside measurement and tracking of performance metrics.
• Robust understanding of computer architecture principles.

Educational and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline with at least 4 years of relevant work experience in hardware or software engineering or systems engineering.
• Or Master's degree in the referenced fields with a minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience.
• Or PhD in related fields combined with a minimum of 2 years of pertinent work experience.

Compensation and Additional Information

Salary range: $175,600 to $263,400 annually. Compensation includes discretionary annual bonuses and eligibility for RSU grants (excluding sales-incentive roles). A comprehensive benefits package is provided to support work-life success.
