Software Security Operations Engineer, Staff

About the Role

We are seeking a Software Security Operations Engineer to join Qualcomm's Product Security Team in Cork, Ireland. This position focuses on software security, particularly blocklisting, vulnerability management, and automation. The role involves designing and operating scalable tools to track, report, and enforce detection of vulnerabilities in source code for enterprise software systems. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain operational software applications used by the Qualcomm Product Security Team.
• Collaborate with various technology teams to comprehend their workflows and convert high-level requirements into mission-critical production deliverables.
• Provide support to Qualcomm technology teams in security-related workflows, emphasizing prompt resolution of production issues.

Candidate Profile

• A minimum of two years of hands-on development experience with at least one of these languages: C#, .NET Core, Python, or Java.
• Knowledge and experience with web servers such as IIS, including developing applications deployed on these servers.
• Proficiency in developing SQL and stored procedures on databases like Microsoft SQL, MySQL, or Oracle.
• Experience as either an administrator or developer working with Linux operating system variants.
• Well-versed in software security principles and best practices.
• Strong analytical skills for debugging and triaging complex issues, especially in vulnerability management.
• Familiarity with React JS/ANT framework is advantageous.
• Experience with microservices architecture, API gateway, Docker containers, and Kubernetes is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities, with an ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with at least two years of security engineering or relevant experience;
• OR Master's degree with at least one year of related experience;
• OR PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
