Role Overview

We have openings for Junior, Intermediate, and Senior Software Engineers to join our High Security team located in Hamilton. This single role accommodates various experience levels, with responsibilities and autonomy adjusted accordingly. You will contribute to designing, developing, and continually enhancing high-security products used internationally. Your work includes collaboration within cross-functional squads on front-end, back-end, and embedded systems, tackling challenging technical problems and ensuring production of secure, dependable, and high-quality software.

Security Clearance Requirement

Candidates must obtain and maintain at least a Confidential-level security clearance. Eligibility requires being a New Zealand permanent resident and having lived continuously over the past five years in New Zealand or one of the Five Eyes countries: NZ, USA, UK, Canada, or Australia. Ensure you meet these criteria before applying.

Candidate Profile

Applicants at any level—Junior, Intermediate, or Senior—should demonstrate robust engineering fundamentals, problem-solving skills, teamwork ability, and eagerness to develop further. Essential is experience with C++. Additional desirable expertise includes:

• Experience with C# using .NET Core and SQL databases
• Proficiency in automated and unit testing methodologies
• Academic background such as a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields
• Strong proficiency in written and spoken English
• Familiarity working within Agile software development frameworks
• Understanding of cryptographic principles like asymmetric/symmetric encryption, secure hashing, and distinctions between encryption and authentication
• Willingness to work with other programming languages such as Ruby and JavaScript

Junior candidates should have a solid software engineering foundation and the desire to grow commercial experience in a product-oriented setting. Intermediate and Senior candidates are expected to have stronger commercial expertise, with the ability to handle complex engineering challenges, take ownership of system design, and mentor others.
