Security Design Engineer

About the Role

Join the Qualcomm Ireland Security team to innovate in digital security by designing advanced Security IP for Snapdragon SoCs that empower the latest mobile, computing, and data center technologies. This position involves creating critical hardware security features including hardware roots of trust and secure processing capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with international experts spanning architecture, software development, SoC design, and security penetration testing. Contribute actively to the development of large-scale security subsystems encompassing CPUs, Networks on Chip (NoCs), cryptographic accelerators, and key management solutions.

Qualifications and Experience

Required backgrounds include:

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or closely related disciplines plus a minimum of two years in ASIC design, verification, validation, or integration roles;
• OR a Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related fields plus at least one year experience in such ASIC roles;
• OR a PhD in Science, Engineering, or related disciplines.

Desired Skills and Expertise

• ASIC design expertise covering architecture, Register Transfer Level (RTL) design using Verilog or VHDL, and low power design methodologies such as Unified Power Format (UPF);
• Experience with synthesis tools and successful timing closure;
• Proficiency with tools including Design Compiler (DC), Lint checks, and Clock Domain Crossing (CDC) analysis;
• Adeptness working within multidisciplinary global teams focusing on high volume advanced applications;
• Exposure to hardware security concepts including cryptographic algorithms and system-on-chip security techniques;
• Familiarity with Agentic AI development workflows;
• Strong communication capabilities.
