Role Overview
We are looking for a seasoned Physical Design Flow Expert to advance and refine Physical Design methodologies, automation frameworks, and execution workflows for complex SoC programs. The focus is on enhancing flow usability, execution efficiency, and automation in close partnership with CAD, Physical Design, STA, and methodology teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with CAD and implementation teams to improve and optimize existing Physical Design flows and methodologies.
- Identify and resolve execution bottlenecks, proposing practical improvements to enhance quality of results (QoR), runtime, and scalability.
- Lead automation efforts throughout Physical Design stages, including floorplanning, place and route (PnR), static timing analysis (STA), and engineering change order (ECO) execution.
- Develop and maintain utilities, scripts, and frameworks using Tcl, Python, Shell, and Perl scripting languages.
- Collaborate closely with PD and STA teams to establish standardized best practices and enhance execution consistency.
- Support multi-corner multi-mode (MCMM) timing closure and signoff tracking across various projects.
- Troubleshoot flow-related issues and work with CAD teams to deliver fixes and improvements.
- Enhance the usability and robustness of implementation flows across multiple designs and technology nodes.
Skills and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related discipline with over 8 years of experience.
- Deep knowledge of complete Physical Design flows and signoff methodologies.
- Practical experience with industry-standard tools like Innovous, First Encounter (FC), Primetime, and Tempus.
- Strong grasp of STA principles, MCMM flows, Design Rule Verification (DRV) closure, and timing/debug methodologies.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using Tcl, Python, and Unix/Linux shell scripting.
- Experience in developing dashboards and data visualization for progress tracking and reporting.
