Role Overview
The Software Sales Specialist at HP partners closely with account teams to provide focused expertise in software sales. This role aims to foster growth throughout the sales pipeline, from generating leads to successfully negotiating and closing deals. It involves building meaningful relationships with key decision-makers, understanding their business challenges, and offering software solutions tailored to meet their needs. The specialist will also keep abreast of industry developments and competitive dynamics to effectively communicate HP's software value and support sales targets.
Key Duties
- Identify and research prospective clients in the target market, consistently building a pipeline of new leads through strategies such as cold outreach, networking, events, and online tools.
- Perform comprehensive needs analyses to grasp client-specific business issues and demonstrate how HP software solutions can effectively address them.
- Present the business impact of software, including Return on Investment (ROI), competitive advantages, and value propositions.
- Collaborate with technical and pre-sales experts to craft custom proposals addressing client needs.
- Expertly manage contract negotiations, resolve objections, and close sales to meet or exceed sales goals and revenue targets.
- Maintain detailed and current records of all sales activities in CRM systems; analyze sales data to spot trends and improvement opportunities.
- Lead and coordinate diverse teams across cultures, departments, and business units to ensure strong customer support.
- Develop and sustain strong executive-level client relationships.
- Stay updated on market trends, competitive forces, and new technologies; provide actionable insights to improve product offerings and sales strategies.
- Express the software's ROI and benefits aligned with specific customer priorities.
- Operate with a focused, high-energy approach to achieve qualified lead generation and set meetings.

A demonstrated enthusiasm for adopting new tools and AI technologies to enhance sales outcomes, customer interactions, and personal productivity. The role demands quick learning and application of digital solutions and AI-driven insights for improved decision-making and customized client engagement.
Qualifications & Experience
- Preferred qualification: Bachelor’s degree (not mandatory).
- Approximately 7 or more years of direct or strategic sales experience predominantly within enterprise software, cloud services, or virtualization, covering various industry sectors.
- Experience in cloud-based software sales and familiarity with major cloud providers like Microsoft, AWS, Google, and platforms such as Nexthink and 1E.
- Successfully operated in matrix organizational structures collaborating with sales forces, technical consultants, and business unit teams.
- Proven understanding of how technology solutions address business challenges.
- Expertise in managing sales processes and cultivating client relationships.
- Strong awareness of market dynamics with the ability to translate insights into sales opportunities.
