About the Payments Team

The Payments team manages the flow of money in our global entertainment product, including fiat payments and cryptocurrency transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, and on-ramping digital assets to millions worldwide. Operating on a platform handling approximately 4 billion daily requests, the team processes around 3,000 bets per second and 95 billion bets per year, with transaction volumes increasing by tens of millions weekly.

Partnering with product managers, designers, and operations teams, you will build and refine scalable transaction processing platforms, wallet infrastructure, and seamless payment experiences covering both fiat and crypto ecosystems. This team is integral to expanding our global footprint, launching new markets, currencies, payment providers, and crypto capabilities.

We maintain a "you build it, you run it" philosophy, owning feature development, architectural direction, reliability, scalability, and operational excellence end-to-end.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support multiple engineering squads to deliver quality solutions aligned with strategic goals.
• Mentor engineers and tech leads through feedback, career development programs, and personalized learning opportunities.
• Define and communicate clear strategic directions to unify team efforts around common objectives.
• Engage hands-on when necessary, including participation in technical and code reviews and assisting with critical incident resolution.
• Implement and oversee efficient and scalable delivery processes and workflows.

Qualifications

• Solid experience in software engineering and production system delivery.
• Proven leadership of multiple high-performing engineering squads.
• Expertise in creating and executing strategic engineering plans aligned with business goals.
• Strong background in mentoring and coaching technical staff and leads.
• Experience resolving complex technical and organizational problems.
• Comprehensive understanding of scalable architectures, current development practices, and best engineering standards.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-departmental leaders.
