Technical SEO Specialist

About the Role

Join a dynamic team powering Stake, a platform reaching over 20 million users and handling 30 million bets annually. As a Technical SEO Specialist, you will proactively identify and resolve crawl and indexing issues before they impact rankings, leveraging coding, automation, API integration, and AI-enhanced workflows. Collaborate closely with Technical SEO lead, Engineering, Product, CRM, Marketing, and Content teams within an innovative, fast-paced Melbourne-based tech firm focusing on fearless technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive technical SEO audits examining crawl behavior, indexing, rendering, site structure, internal linking, and website performance.
• Diagnose SEO technical problems using tools such as crawl software, developer tools, source code inspection, Google Search Console, and log/data analysis to determine root causes.
• Implement and maintain structured data and schema markup consistently across website templates and individual pages.
• Develop and enhance internal SEO automation tools, scripts, and workflows to eliminate repetitive manual tasks.
• Utilize artificial intelligence and large language models for analysis, content management, quality assurance, and workflow automation.
• Perform timely ad-hoc technical and content updates on the Stake.com site.
• Monitor overall site health and proactively address issues prior to affecting organic search results.
• Communicate technical findings effectively through clear reports tailored for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Required Experience and Skills

• Between 2 to 5 years of experience in SEO, technical SEO, web development, digital analytics, or allied technical fields.
• Deep understanding of core technical SEO principles including crawl prioritization, indexing mechanics, canonical tags, redirect management, internal linking, sitemaps, robots.txt directives, and structured data application.
• Comfortable navigating Content Management Systems and web environments.
• Strong analytical aptitude enabling independent problem investigation and resolution.
• Preferably holds a degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with popular SEO tools such as Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, SEMRush, and Google Search Console.
• Skills in data handling including Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, SQL, or other querying tools.
• Basic experience with coding and software development principles.
• A proactive mindset towards automating repetitive SEO tasks.
