Tapi addresses the challenge of coordination in property maintenance, involving tenants, tradies, property managers, and landlords—each with distinct information and incentives. Used by property managers in Australia, New Zealand, and the UK, Tapi supports over 550,000 properties with maintenance management. Its products are built on eight years of data from 28 million human decisions.
We develop software that not only supports coordination but actively manages it, handling pricing, scheduling, tracking, and settling jobs with real tradies and financial transactions with precision.
Role Overview
Our engineering team operates without hierarchy or excessive processes, focusing on impactful software development and direct customer feedback. We work in small, autonomous pods with full ownership of product and workflow quality. We embrace AI as a transformative tool for building ambitious, high-quality software rather than mere demonstrations.
The role is fully remote across Australia and New Zealand. We are an established yet nimble company employing diverse technologies, expecting engineers to be polyglot and curious rather than committed to any one stack.

Primary Responsibilities
- Develop core product features end-to-end, managing complex workflows with multiple states and edge scenarios.
- Deploy daily releases, actively monitor real-world job data, evaluate assumptions, and iterate improvements rapidly.
- Define architectural patterns, tooling choices, and workflows that will be adopted by a growing engineering team.
Candidate Profile

As a senior team member, expect to contribute both through coding and leadership: mentoring colleagues, understanding customer needs deeply, and delivering timely value.
Experience working with AI agents as part of daily workflows is essential. You should be comfortable guiding AI tools, rigorously reviewing outputs, accelerating your productivity beyond solo efforts, and experimenting with advanced AI collaboration.
