Java Software Engineer

Overview

We seek experienced Java developers knowledgeable in Apache Flink and familiar with AWS services like EKS and S3. This role involves extensive file processing within a cloud-native environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services using Java.
• Build and manage large-scale file processing systems on VSIs and Amazon S3 using streaming and batch pipelines powered by Apache Flink.
• Deploy services on Kubernetes with cloud-native architecture focused on fault tolerance, high availability, and disaster recovery in multi-region setups.
• Create robust RESTful APIs with strong emphasis on security, scalability, versioning, documentation, and handling errors gracefully.
• Integrate and administer dynamic service discovery via service registries in microservices environments.
• Leverage AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude to enhance productivity and code quality.

Required Expertise

• Solid mastery of Java programming and object-oriented design principles.
• Capability to develop custom frameworks and reusable software modules.
• Practical experience handling and processing files on VSIs and AWS S3 at large scale.
• Working knowledge or experience with Apache Flink.
• Proficient with messaging and streaming platforms like Kafka or MQ.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native applications.
• Familiarity with AWS infrastructure and related services.
• Understanding of designing distributed, share-nothing, multi-region resilient architectures.
• Comfortable working in Agile and self-managed team environments.
